Networks

Cere is a Substrate-base solo-chain blockchain, with a bridge for multi-chain interoperability.

Apart from running a Mainnet network, Cere has a Testnet, which uses the Cere runtime.

There is no Canary Network at this time.

Nominated Proof-of-Stake (NPoS)

Cere adopts Nominated Proof-of-Stake (NPoS), a sophisticated mechanism for selecting validators. Nominators support validator candidates, and the network automatically distributes stakes among validators to maximize economic security. Validators with significant backing become active in the next era. A minimum of 250 CERE is required to submit an intention to nominate. Both nominators and validators' stakes can be slashed in NPoS.

Bridges

Bridges connect different networks, allowing arbitrary data transfer between them. While operating independently with distinct protocols and governance models, these chains can interoperate through bridges, which are essential to Cere’s interoperable architecture. Bridges serve as secure and robust communication channels between isolated chains.

Main Actors

Validators

Validators produce blocks on the Relay Chain when elected to the validator set. They also accept proofs of valid state transitions from collators and receive staking rewards.

Nominator

Nominators bond their stake to specific validators, helping them enter the active validator set and earn rewards in return.

Tokens

This section provides information about the native token used within the Cere protocol.
