A significant step towards Cere's vision of a shared, open ecosystem. Inspired by renowned decentralized projects such as MakerDAO, Uniswap, and Aave, the Cere DAO emphasizes decentralized, inclusive, and transparent governance where every member has an equal voice in determining Cere’s trajectory.
Since its inception in 2019, Cere has been driven by the desire to distribute control and decision-making across its ecosystem, ensuring no single entity has disproportionate influence. This roadmap, crafted with insights from top legal experts, charts the path toward a fully community-led Cere ecosystem.
True to its commitment to decentralized governance, the Cere DAO ensures that key decisions within the network are made in collaboration with its community. The treasury funds vested in the Cere DAO symbolize the faith placed in the collective wisdom.
Governance in Cere is more than just a process—it's a commitment to fairness and transparency. It is carried out by token holders who can vote on proposals that impact the ecosystem, through Polkassembly, a platform enabling $CERE token holders to participate in on-chain governance.

The synergy between the Cere Community and the $CERE token forms the bedrock of our decentralization roadmap. In addition to governance, the $CERE token also serves as the key utility and security component, as the Cere Blockchain will be powering Decentralized Data Clouds globally, tokenizing DDC revenue into $CERE to reward validators, nominators, stakers, and on-chain treasury, managed by the DAO.
One of the key goals of the Cere DAO is to foster $CERE token holders towards upgrading their reputation in the community according to their role and engagement. Ways to engage and impact the network’s development:
Polkassembly platform allows token holders to participate in on-chain governance on Substrate. This web-based application makes it easy to vote on proposals and engage in governance discussions, using OpenGov
At https://cere.polkassembly.io/ members can check the past referenda run on the network. Cere also runs proposals and puts them up for debate.
